Cinderella is my favorite Disney movie and always has been. I've always wanted the glass slipper, the pumpkin carriage, and the prince. I've always dreamed of my wedding. Didn't know what I would want, where it would be, and most importantly who the heck my groom would be! Luckily, all that has come together, with God's timing of course, and May 14th will be here before we both know it!
I have an idea of what I want my wedding to look like and slowly but surely everything is falling perfectly into place. I want it to be simple, clean, traditional, and classy. So far, so good. We've got our theme picked out and the color, which just so happens to be Brandon's favorite color-so that worked out well. We have our church booked, which has the beautiful wooden pews I have always dreamed of. We have the reception hall booked as well, that is down a hill right by the river with a pretty gazebo and trees all around it. We went and booked it in January and everything was dead and dull looking...the trees were bare and the grass was brown, but I know that in May it will be gorgeous.
Even though Brandon hasn't been here through out all of this, it's like he is. I'm thankful that he cares about everything and isn't saying; "A wedding is the girls part, do whatever you want." I'm glad that he wants to make an input on everything. Of course I care what he thinks. I hear everyone say to me all the time; "It's your day!" and "Who cares! Do what you want." I disagree completely. It's not MY day...it's our day. I'm not marrying myself? How is that anyway for anyone to start off a marriage. Like Brandon once said to me, "It's not about me anymore. It's not about you anymore. It's about us."
Here is some of my "wedspiration". Nothing specific, because I want to keep everything a surprise for our guests, but just some ideas of what we like and what we want.
Amanda

What a wonderful way to remember all that you're going through with planning the wedding. I wish I had. This May we will be married 5 years already! And I find myself looking back and thinking I wish I had kept a journal or something to remember all of the little things. I'm so excited for you and look forward to seeing it all come together. Of course you know we are here if you need anything. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sara! Do you have a blog now? I actually have a little job for you and Jesse. I knew you guys would be perfect for it! I'll give you details later on. :)
