Blog Overload

22 July 2011

Today I have quite a few random things to catch up on and blog about.

-Numero Uno: Why I am glad Brandon is home.

I am glad Brandon is home for many reasons. Obviously one reason is that he is my live in best friend. He's always there to goof off with, hang out with, or just have random pointless talk. His presence in the house makes a huge difference.

I missed hanging out with him and the pup.

We got a new mini vacuum for quick clean ups. If you know 'Brenda', I mean Brandon...then you know he loves a tidy house! Here he is testing it out and Jaxon...well, he didn't like it too much. Haha!

I enjoy having Brandon around because even doing the simplest task, like killing a fly, he makes it into some sort of adventure. Like with this chore, he turned into an Australian Hunter of some sort...it was hilarious to watch! He always keeps me smiling :)

While Brandon was gone I made us a new Shutterfly book to add to our collection! My friend Kelly showed this site to me and it is beyond awesome! The first book is of the first stage of our relationship. It leads up to when we decided to get married. Which is where 'The Brandon and Amanda Story' title started! So, as it was obviously time to do a little catching up I continued with: 'The Brandon and Amanda Story, The Engagement' which walks us through that time in our lives. Next book...The Wedding. That one will take a hot minute!
I love these books. It's nice having them around, especially when friends and family come over..they always take a peak! :)

-Number TWO! Those silly pups...

Mom and dad are off to the lake for a little 'them' time. I guess even though they are finally emptynesters...they still enjoy the chance to get away for the scenery of the lake {their fave!} They were already nice enough to send me a few pictures to rub in my face...

Anyways, so while they are gone I am in charge of the king of the house: SIMBA! The sweet old man I have had since the 4th grade. I know...he is 12 years old. So in doggy years: 84!

Heat/HUMIDITY is no joke here in Tennessee. We have to be careful out there! So I took it upon myself to find the perfect solution for our little Simba.

This morning I went over to let him out, as he tends to himself for the most part aka sleeps 23 out of the 24 hour day. He was excited to see me once he finally woke up and came pitter pattering down the hall. He's not the outdoorsy type though, so he did his business and was ready to come back in!
Note: Obey the rug.

Wednesday afternoon we headed to Petsmart and bought Jaxon all kinds of new toys! One of which only made it about 2 hours. Poor bear... Jaxon pretty much destroyed all of his toys while Brandon was gone, so we went to stock up! His favorite? A 'Doggie Beer' we found in the clearance section. Puh...men! ;)

Last night we went to Walmart to go grocery shopping. So glad we got it out of the way last night vs. going to the mad house this weekend! We stood in the ice cream aisle for...oh, ya know a good 20 minutes, trying to decide what we wanted. I finally realized, um we have a problem. But the more I thought about it I then realized we don't treat ourselves to stuff like this very often, so no wonder it's taking forever! This is what we got. Mine was the cheescake and let me tell you... TO DIE FOR!

We also got lots of things to cook some new recipes {one being for our date night tonight at home♥} and some avocados to test out as well to take as a treat to Jazz on the Lawn this weekend, one of my favorite summer happenings! Haven't been in a few weeks, so I'm excited to go and hang with some of the bests!

Been struggling with Birthday plans all week. Obviously it is THE most important day of the year, so it has to be somewhere other then Clarksville. I mean come on, last year I went to Miami!
So we've been doing a lot of research and trying to decide where we are going to go and what we're going to do. Can't do anything to extravagant, as we have house projects we are working on along with the fact that we went to Jamaica a short two months ago. {I know, I know...I still need to blog about it.} Have a few things in mind though for the b-day and the hubs has promised that he will make it awesome!

Oh, and BTW-Yours truly and my other two lovely work friends are on a billboard...and no not the mini replica on my desk, a real one! EIGHT as a matter of fact, all throughout our little Clarksville! We are up there to show off our new Women At The Wheel.net site! Check it out!!
Here we are sporting our shirts:

Ready for a fab weekend, another reason I am glad my Brandon is home :) Hope everyone has a great weekend too! Soon I will be posting the No Fuss Lasagna and Chicken Tetrazzini recipes...so, watch for them.
