The Big Move!

07 July 2012

Thursday June 28th I headed out of work at little after 3. Met up with Brandon to go pick up the U-Haul truck and start getting everything packed up! Luckily Thursday morning we had everything packed and ready to go. Mom & Dad let us {+ Jax} stay the night Thursday at their house so that Thursday night the house was completely empty.

We packed up the U-Haul in some 100+ degree weather. Thankfully we had a few friends from our community group join us and help load everything up! So grateful for good friends.

Neither of us had never rode in a U-Haul before so riding in this big thing across town to our new place with our whole house in the back was so exciting!!!

Jaxon pooped after a long hard day!

Thursday night we grabbed some Papa Murphey's Pizza for dinner and watch the news. Oh joy! This was exciting. 104 degree moving weather. Goodie!

Friday morning we woke up with only about 3 hours of sleep {due to excitement} and headed to the house one last time to completely clean everything up and load up the clothes that hung in the closet.
At 6:30 we left without a speck of dirt. So long Patricia Dr! You were a beautiful first home which we made tons of memories in...

...Like this one <3

After we ate some breakfast and got ready we headed to the Title Company for our 8:00 closing. We've heard nothing but nightmares about the closing process... That it takes hours, we have to sign our names a million times, the stack is insane. Well luckily, we had a 20 minute closing, a smooth pen, and we were outta there!

After closing we headed to the new house to start unloading. Talk about exciting!

Jax stuck around grandma and grandpa's to enjoy the AC. :)

Unpacking was awesome, hot, quick, exciting, hot, stressful, fun, and did I say hot? It was pointless to put the AC on with all the doors being wide open all day, but around 1:00 Brandon brought in the last box and we flipped the AC on high! And although it was super hot... at least it wasn't raining! :)

Friday we got tons done! We got everything unloaded, the bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, dining room, bonus room, and kitchen all unpacked. We got the majority of the blinds hung too!
Saturday we got the rest of the blinds hung and got a lot of the decorating done and hung up!

We did get some free time to skip out and get an energy treat from Starbucks.
It was perfect on this hot day!

Brandon, which we sometimes call Brenda, because of his mad decorating skills!
Working hard on making our new house a home!

My unpacking buddy! Hung out with me the whole time whether he was snoozing or being nosey.

Sunday at 5:00 we hung the last and final picture on the wall. And were DONE!
Prepared No Fuss Lasagna and had it ready and in the oven for mom and dad to come over and eat.
First home cooked meal in the new house!

Over the weekend we had a few visitors to come and check out the new house, the mess, and chaos that was going on. One special friend even brought some fresh flowers!

Definitely a successful move! We are so excited and can't believe that we are finally settled in. God is so good and he has blessed us beyond belief!

Thanks to everyone who helped during the process. Especially our awesome real estate agent. Couldn't have done it without Kathy! :)
