Family Baby Shower!

20 August 2013

On Saturday we had Bennett's Big Family Baby Shower!

Friday night was by far the roughest night of pregnancy sleep so far. I was so excited for the shower that it took me a while to get to sleep. Then Jax and Trig woke me up coughing (they had a cold over the weekend). Then I woke up starving, first time during the pregnancy, so I had a snack. Finally got back to sleep and then I got woken up by a huge cramp in my leg! Needless to say I was excited to wake up and it finally be morning. So, that day I was a little drained, foggy brained, and felt like the whole day was just a huge whirlwind! Luckily the host of the party was snapping away all day so that I was able to have these pictures for memories!

Chalkboard welcome sign I made!

As each guest came in they were to write their address on an envelope (thank you card time saver!) and write a funny message on a newborn diaper for us to read during our wild midnight changes. I am SO excited to read these and giggle on those groggy tired nights!

Our shower theme was 'Children's Story Book'.
It was a 'Books & Brunch' Shower. Everyone was asked to bring a book to help build Bennett's Library.

I saw this cute idea when I was looking through ideas on Pinterest. I couldn't pass it up!

Pictures of Brandon and I when we were babies :)

So thankful for all of the special gifts!

For food we had:
Green Eggs &Ham (Quiche & Ham Sandwiches)
Strawberries
Goodnight Moon Pies
One Fish, Two Fish, Colored Gold Fish

And Almond Cupcakes! My absolute favorite!!

Water and Virgin Mimosas

My best friend (just found out she is expecting!) and I decorating. She was this big mama's side kick all day and I was so grateful to have her helping me! <3 Life is though when you're an extra 20 lbs!

We played the 'measure the belly game'. Here is mom trying out her string.

We also played 'Chocolate Diaper'. We had 5 diapers with different candy bars melted into each one. You had to guess which candy bar was in each diaper! Take a whiff, dad!

Then we played a 'newly parents' trivia game! It was so fun!

Then we opened Bennett's goodies! :)

Love this sweet blanket that was made by two friends!

And we also celebrated dad's birthday. Although it was 'just another day', I know he didn't mind sharing that day celebrating his soon to be grandson!

A special thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Bennett. We are so grateful for all of the gifts and blessed to have you all in our lives. Thanks for helping make that day so special for us!
