I'm obviously not doing to well with this. I forgot what I named the first post and I have already missed out on three days.. But instead of being defeated and giving up here I am at 12:15am typing away. It feels like Thursday but it is in fact Friday. Thursday was a difficult day for me for multiple reasons. It was a busy day. I got a lot accomplished. I spent some of today thinking about how I could maximize my time as a work from home mom to get more accomplished, try to run on a schedule (insert sarcastic lol) and yeah, just be more efficient with my day. My first thought was how can I get in my gym time? I love going to the gym. Out of the 24 hours I get in the day spending 1 of those hours lifting heavy things (aside from a 2 1/2 year old, laundry baskets & dirty diapers...). It centers me, raises my energy levels and of course makes me feel extremely accomplished. And if I go in the am it sets me up for a great day. Before kids and working from home I worked an 8-5. I would get up at 5 (yes-voluntarily) be at the gym by 5:30 then go home shower and be at work by 8. Ahhh... Those were the days. I thought today, yeah! I could totally do that. If I have to get up with Aubrey.. I can feed her a quick bottle, go right back to bed and still have enough sleep to get up at 5-5:30 and get my work out in! Oh, then reality sinks in as it is 12:20 and I have yet to go to sleep. :) But wait! The gym has a daycare. Nope. That won't work. Check back to Monday's post to learn why.
But being a mom is great. I know I won't always be able to hold and rock a little 20lb sweetie pie. Soon she will be like Bennett... Arms and legs everywhere falling out of the rocker. So for now she wakes up in the middle of the night, keeps me from my gym time, runs over my heels using her walker, eats every single tiny thing she can find on the floor, squeals a lot... But also makes me giggle when her long legs stride in the walker, makes my heart beat out of its chest when she sees me enter a room and call her name, leaves me in awe when I watch her sleep in my arms in the rocker chair, makes me excited to have a baby girl when she practices walking and prances on her tippy toes...
Today Bennett said my name.... About 10 times in a 20 second time span. I was trying to pick out a DVD for him to watch and it was 'mama hey mama, mama hey mamamamamamamamama' and I'm like 'OMG WHAT!' Jk.. I took a deep breathe and looked at him and said 'hey Bennett!!' And he handed me a DVD he picked out. Then about 5 mins later I was looking through some paperwork on the couch and he fell on top of me crushing my paper work and I said 'hey bud mamas working so we have to be careful ok?' And he hugged my head (yes, the whole thing) and said 'mama you beautiful!' And his latest thing is... If he wants to be picked up and carried he says 'mama let me hold you!' Haha!
Until next time.. If ever ;) Because its finally my bed time!
Some day, before you even know it, you'll be watching long lanky legs (much like her mom's) tiptoe thru a dance recital. Don't blink. ♡
