Food:
Food for me is tough. I love anything gummy (bears, sour worms, rings) and ice cream. They are my weakness. I have a killer sweet tooth-I joke that I need to get it removed. Ha! Also, I am a Sheppard from Clarksville. Born and raised in Tennessee which means beans, taters, and mac n cheese is constantly on the menu. I mean a trip to Mawmaw's will leave any normal person in a food coma for DAYS! So my "diet" consisted of the basics... eggs, oatmeal, special k (0% milk), fruits, peanut butter, wheat bread, tuna, chicken breasts, veggies, salad, wheat wraps, nuts, berries, protein shakes, and water. Nothing but water. Water is the most important. No tea, coffee, soda, alcohol. Sad to say the party scene...not the healthiest. That's why I had to lose the 20 to begin with. Glad that's over.
Fitness:
For me, this was pretty easy. As most of you know I'm ADHD and can't sit still to save my life. I'm very active. Paying for the gym is like buying food, to me it's essential. I used to be afraid of the weight room...lots of men, smells, heavy equipment and stuff everywhere...not ideal for me. But with a little guidance from Michael I was able to learn what was right for me and what machines did what and now, I live in it. Like, get out of my way. Cardio is important, that's what burns the fat off. I like swimming, running, biking however, the treadmill and me are enemies. Not a big fan...I mean boring! I like to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and scenary time flies when I run like that! Anyways...here is a copy of the work out plan I made. It gets me 8 30 minute sessions of cardio and I hit every major muscle group...
Cardio: | Weights: | |
Sunday: | Rest | Rest |
Monday: | AM: Elliptical PM: Bike | Legs, Booty, Abs |
Tuesday: | Swim | Arms |
Wednesday: | AM: Run PM: Elliptical Warm Up | Shoulders, Abs |
Thursday (AM): | Bike | |
Friday: | AM: Run PM: Elliptical | Back, Chest, Abs |
Saturday: | Swim |
With an exception of snow days and surgeries I wasn't able to attend all sessions, but for the most part I did. Ashley and I have figured out that the whole "muscle weighs more then fat" doesn't really pertain to girls. I've gained alot of muscle, lost a little fat, but dropped 20 lbs. That doesn't make sense, right?
Reached my goal of fat loss, but I still have some toning to do. I have learned that toning is tedious (annoying). Will all come in due time. Considering I found my wedding dress January 1...I probably have some alterations to make, rather in then out! Can't wait to get it.
