Growing up Brandon and I both had dogs. We are dog people. We love then. We have been discussing for a while now on what kind of dog we are going to get. Of course he wants the big lab and I wantED a small lap dog. Having two dogs is not an option to us. Too much to take care of. So we have came across a dog that we think will be perfect for us!
The things we wanted together was...
-doesn't shed
-nice coat
-medium size
-energetic
-good for outdoors
-people friendly
After lots and lots and lots of research we've decided on a Brittany Spaniel!
(this was a pic Brandon found and sent me)
Once we get married we will further discuss the time of when we will get one. We definitely want to be ready. Both of us have had dogs in the past that we had to give up, because we didn't have the time, money, patience...etc. to take of them. Sad times, but it was the more responsible thing to do. Having a dog is a big responsibility. In all actuality it is like having a kid. You have to feed them, give them water, potty train them, teach them how to behave, show them love, be home for them all the time, and they can last up to 20 years! BIG responsibility and commitment. Brandon and I are social butterflies and love the gym after an 8 hour work day, so getting a dog will definitely not be a spur of the moment thing.
Finally deciding on the breed we are able to do a lot of research on them. They shed "light". They are runners, perfect! we both love to run, they are very energetic, they are breeding for hunters so will be great for hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities, they are medium size so they will be good for outdoors, and are very alert which is good since Brandon is in the army.
We're anxious and excited, but know that when the time is right we will get one. One more thing on our wish list. Already have a possible name picked out, depends on how it acts, and we have decided we want a boy. :) Fun stuff and we can't wait.
Amanda
