Water Park, Jazz, and Movies!

Saturday Morning we woke up pretty early and we ready to start our day! Initially we were hoping to spend the day with Jaxon at the lake...however, that didn't work out too well. Where we planned to take him didn't allow dogs after all. We wanted to swim, we wanted to take him swimming, and it couldn't be to the Cumberland. So, we're trying to find a place to take him...does anyone know of a place?

We started the day with Honey, Banana, Granola Pancakes that I made. Man, they were delicious!

So, considering it was one of the first sunny summer days that we were both off and able to go swimming we decided to pack up a lunch, grab our suits and head to Eddyville to go to a water park! Venture River is where I always used to go when I was younger. I love it there, because it's not crawling with people, reasonable pricing to get in, and the lines for the fun slides aren't forever long! It was such a fun day and all we need was each other, the sun, and some water to play in!

After a day at the water park we came home and did a little shopping, then got ready to go to jazz with some of our closest friends! We went early enough to bring a treat to share with friends, so we made some guacamole dip. Notice the 'we'. Yes, Brandon ended up making all of it because the second avocado in...I sliced my thumb pretty good. Scared me, thought I was going to have to get stitches. I was told not to play with the knives...still rockin' a band aide.

Guacamole Dip

Ingredients:
2 avocados
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic
1 ripe tomato
1 lime, juiced
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Peel and mash avocadoes in a medium serving bowl.
2. Stir in onion, garlic, tomato, lime juice, salt and pepper to taste.
3. Season with remaining lime juice and salt and pepper to taste.
4. Chill for half an hour to blend flavors.

Sunday morning, got up and went to church and greeted at the door to the gathering. It was a fun job handing out the bulletins. Love seeing smiling faces :)

After church was a lazy afternoon. We went to the movies to see Friends With Benefits. SO FUNNY! Such a cute movie. Justin Timberlake is far from my favorite singer, but he's a great actor and Mila...she's a fun actress! They were cute together and it was a great movie.

While at the theaters...I had a mini stroke. Are you ready for this next picture?

I KNOW! Lion King 3D?! Are you kidding me?! My dreams finally came true! Lion King has always been one of my favorite cartoons...hence the name of my first dog, 'Simba'. I will be there, first showing, with my 3D glasses on. So READY!


After the movie we went out for Mexican...it was delicious, because we haven't had Mexican in over a month. YUM! Then we went to Berry Bear for the first time. Interesting...it was good! I like Frozen Yogurt, but I think I like my ice cream more!
