Happy Halloween!

31 October 2011

Happy Halloween Friends!

Dad bought mom a big ol pumpkin for the front porch and she put me in charge of carving it. I was excited! Glad I finally got around to carving one...the day before Halloween. What? Better late then never, right?

How to carve a punkin'

First get the perfect pumpkin

Step 2 cut out the top and scrape out the gooey stuff

To bake the yummy seeds that are inside make a bowl to the side to put them in

After you take out the seeds, cute your face and wah lah!

This is me and snaggle tooth AKA the emoticon pumpkin
Totally didn't mean it, but they really do match!

Be sure to clean out any extra gooey-ness...

Don't forget to show your pumpkin some love!

Add hair? ...nah.

All done and ready to be seen by the neighbors and trick-or-treaters!

It finally got dark so we got to bring him to life!

My sweet snaggle tooth :)

How to make pumpkin seeds:

Boil two cups of water per 1/2 cup of seeds. Add 1 teaspoon of salt per 2 cups of water. Let boil 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pam the baking sheet and spread the seeds out evenly. Bake for 10-20 minutes {until golden brown}. Once they are done-enjoy! You can eat the whole thing or break them open and eat the inside.

Today at work we got to dress up for Halloween!
I tried to stick with something I could work in and something I could find around the house. I actually bought this vest last year at Posh {a super cute boutique we have downtown}. Bandanna is dad's and the hat is my friends!

Here are me and the girls! Fran is a bumble bee and Stephanie is the good witch!

Me and Fran! I told her she needs to go around saying, 'Imma be, imma be, imma imma imma be.'

I miss being able to trick-or-treat. Every year for a few years straight I was a witch. One year we went to New York because my brother was on the Maury Povich show {that's another story}. I was probably...6 at the time. Mom surprised me with bringing my witch costume and I got to wear it on the plane home-I was totally bummed I wasn't going to get to trick-or-treat that year, but was thrilled when she busted out the costume! Mom and I were reminiscing last night, she said the flight stuartist had a fit over the 'cute little witch'! Another great thing about trick-or-treating? The CRAZY assortment of candy. From milk duds to jolly ranchers, yum!

Today has been such a busy/great day! Can't wait to see what happens tonight when I go over to moms to pass out candy to the little trick or treaters. We will be having chili {as tradition} and I have another costume for tonight! ;)

To top off the great day...

My sweet husband sent me some flowers! He always knows how to make me smile. I am so lucky to have this man in my life. ♥

Can't wait to watch them transform!

Happy Halloween everyone!!
