Oh Christmas Tree...

26 November 2011

Oh Christmas Tree!

I was never a fan of that song when I was little. I thought it was 'boring'.
Well, this year I don't mind it too much! I officially have my first Christmas Tree EVER. And Brandon and I have our first Christmas Tree ever together, too! So, this tree was beyond a big deal and yes I had my princess tiara on while shopping. It had to be perfect. This is something we will reuse every year so we wanted it to be perfect! Thanks to my loving husband he made sure that I got the exact tree I wanted. Isn't he the best?

Here's the deal... I do not like pencil trees. I don't like the skinny trees. And I don't like the trees that have 1-2 twigs on them. {Sorry Charlie Brown ;)} If I could have any tree in the entire world in my house it would be the giant tree that's sittin in Time Square. Is there one there? Idk. But I imagine if there was one it would be the biggest tree. No, it wouldn't fit in our house...just wanted you to get the idea of my kinda tree. So, it had to be big, tall, and bushy! And boy did we find the perfect one!! :)

We shopped and shopped and shopped from Lowes to Hobby Lobby looking for the perfect tree. Man, those things are high! I wasn't picky on getting a prelit tree, I just wanted it to be tall and bushy!

Then we found it! It's name is 'Donner' and we found it at Walmart.
It is 7.5 ft tall, 56" wide at the base, and has 1310.

As tradition {for me and mom} we would always watch one of my favorite Christmas Movies; Elf and put up the tree! So, of course I couldn't put up a Christmas Tree without watching that silly movie ;)

Fluffin' it up!

Halfway done. Phew...that thing is big!

Look it how big! The top ain't even on yet!

All done. Now that's my kinda tree.
Jax: 'Hey mom, what is this thing? Can I learn how to hike my leg meow?'

All done! Time to head out and get the ornaments & lights!

900 lights + Ribbon

Now, to work on the Tree Skirt! ;)
We chose this DIY Tutorial. I pinned it a little over a month ago and have been in love ever since!

Getting close to being done!

All done! Now...where are those presents? ;)

And we're done! Tada!
The Forbes first Christmas Tree!
