Cookies, a boot, and party!

22 December 2011

What a busy 24 hours it has been, geez!

Last night after the gym I headed home, whipped together some casserole with whatever we had laying around {which turned out DELISH!} and then we got to decorating our Gingerbread Cookies! It was so fun and I was smiling ear to ear the whole time.

Brandon wanted to make Jax. Notice the FIRST thing he did was put on his 'one mustachio!' They look about the same, right?

After we decorated the cookies we grabbed two {my pink heart has marshmallows on it} and went riding around in the Jetta to check out Christmas lights! They were some awesome houses. One looked just like a gingerbread house the way it was trimmed in lights. It was so cool. Some others...well, I'm sorry but what are you thinking?

There was a gift that came home with Brandon from my sweet mom in law that I was instructed to open before Christmas....OK! :) And it was such a cute Christmas Ornament! When I went to hang it up Brandon {Mr. OCD} said, "Well, that's one of those ones that doesn't really matter where you put it, because that thing isn't going to match anything." Rude. Of course I put it front and center!

OPI: So many clowns...so little time. Love this color. Can't go wrong with a good nude. Still trying to figure out what color I'm picking for Christmas. Hm. You know life is good when one of your only stresses is Nail Polish color. ;)

This morning the day FINALLY came! I had my 'second opinion' appointment with Gateway Foot & Ankle. Walking in their extremely eager and anxious to see if this doctor 1. knew what he was talking about and 2. had answers for me, I was READY!

While in there I went detail by detail explaining EVERYTHING that had happened. From all the miles I had ran, the news shoes, the PAINFUL cortisone shot I had to endure, anti-inflammatory pills, etc. I had to get new x-rays, because the old ones were out dated and got to rock these fine flats!
Those were definitely a new look for me. Usually I get to walk around in a full on hospital gown when I'm at Gateway. :)

So thankful I have my sweet man to calm my nerves at times like this...
Funny Brandon, but those better not be under that tree!

After an hour and a half later I left the office with a lovely new 'BFF'!
With a little sadness, but much relief that I had answers the verdict was: Stress Fracture. Guess what? The cortisone shot. Unnecessary. Actually, it just made it worse. Can we say, 'Thanks for the pointless painful SHOT.' About the doctor that did that to me...well my momma taught me that if I don't have anything nice to say to not say anything at all. So my lips are sealed. In 6 weeks I have a check up appointment. Until then, boot 24/7, except for when I sleep. Luckily I am still able to swim. YAY! I'm not allowed to kick off the wall, but hey...atleast I can still do some form of working out! So even though I haven't been able to run in 4 weeks and won't be able to for another 6 can't put me down. Everything happens for a reason and my head is held high. Take that-mean red guy with the horns.

Today we had our Jenkins & Wynne Christmas/Birthday Lunch! Man, have I ever mentioned how much I love my job? Duh. I work for the best place ever. We went to Edward's Steakhouse and pigged out! It was so yummy!
Fran & I

Fran, me, and her hubby Blake.
What's up with this pic I look like their step kid or something? I kid, I kid.
This coat? $7 at the Goodwill. NWT. BAM! I put it on this morning to leave for work and Brandon said I looked like a present. Hahaha Geez!

Mmm! What? A car dealership can have a birthday party!

Tons of people came and this was only ONE shift. We had two!

An on going joke we have in our office is changing each others backgrounds. Well after the lunch Casey uploaded the pics to my computer to play around with for social media purposes. When I sat back down I had this picture of her daughter, Chandler, as my background. Gotta love those sticky candy cane cheeks!

3 Days!
