Life Happens & God Provides

26 January 2012

Today I'm excited because my husband is finally done with school! At 4:00 I get to go and see him graduate. I can't wait to see the ceremony. I'm dragging my sweet mother along so I don't have to go alone. I know she is excited to go too though!

A few things I have learned to be ok with:

-The fact that life happens and always will.
Well, that sounds silly, doesn't it? But it's true. Remember that awesome deal we got on the 50" Insignia TV? The sound messed up. Luckily, God provides. We are still within our 30 day store return thingy, so we can swap it out with Best Buy.

-I'm in a boot.
Sometimes I get so frustrated because of this boot. But, so many times I realized it's just another trial God has put me through. It sucks because: I can't wear heals, I can't dress up, I can't dress super cute, and it just looks stupid with any outfit I put on. I have to clean the house, vacuum, go to Walmart, etc. etc. in this boot. And the biggest problem of all is I can't workout, but believe it or not I found a positive out of that...I don't have to deal with the crowded gym and share machines with all of the people who are 'doing a new years resolution'. Just last night Brandon was talking about how the parking and weight room is a nightmare, and I just smiled because I don't have to deal with it. So, at least it's January and the boot isn't interfering with any vaca time, beach time, and other things like that. Plus...could you imagine a tan line from this sucker? No thanks!

-Things break.
After we got engaged we slowly started looking for things to put in our new house. We are renting a house, so the only appliances we needed was a washer and dryer. Well, my sweet Jesus provided and my pastor and his wife GAVE us a washer and dryer! Stunned, so grateful, and VERY excited we were so thrilled! Well...about a week ago the washer stopped spinning, had a repairman come out, and he said we had to get a new washer. Bummer :( BUT we were definitely blessed with it and so thankful for the time we had it. So we've been trying to figure out how we are going to pull that much money out of our you know whats to get a new one. And then God provided once again. We got a $200 check in the mail from AT&T. Back pay from when we opened our account with them. I love God's surprises.

So, onto the recipe I promised...

Taco Chicken Chili

Ingredients:

4-5 chicken breasts
1 onion
1 can of kidney beans
1 can of black beans {drained and rinsed}
8 oz tomato sauce
2 cans rotel
10 oz bag frozen corn {or can}
1 tbsp ground cumin
1 tbsp chili powder
1 pkg taco seasoning
1/4 cup cilantro

Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in crock pot and stir
2. Add frozen chicken
3. Cook for 6-8 hours
4. Before serving shred chicken

Enjoy!

So, I have finally finished the Lauren Conrad books. I finished the last one last night and it was pretty depressing. It was so good I didn't want it to end! But, great news is she has a new one: The Fame Game! Can't wait!

For now I am fixing to read: The Hunger Games!

Pretty excited to download it on my Kindle! I feel like this is ALL I hear about. My mom, sister, and I are all going to read them together. Have you read them? Love/hate? Tell me! I'm going to start this weekend!

I wish I didn't! That's amazing that you got the $200!! Yummy! I have made something similiar! I am (slowly) reading The Hunger Games now too! It is so good, so far!!
