Date night, Date day!

So the weekend came and it's gone again!

We had a great one though. :)

Friday night we had one of our faves! 

Date night with homemade pizza.

+ a movie for a buck. 

I fell asleep, but from what I saw it was an awesome movie!

Saturday morning we woke at 6:30 and I had a surprise date day planned for my Brandon.

I told him he had to go somewhere for 30 minutes.

He opted to go upstairs to the bonus room and finish watching the movie with Jax.

I stayed downstairs in the kitchen to whip him up a tasty breakfast. 

I love that he loves being my guinea pig when it comes to new meals!

Stuffed French Toast

Ingredients:

5 slices of whole wheat bread

2 egg whites

1 egg, slightly beaten

1/2 cup fat-free cream cheese

2 tbs plus 1/2 cup strawberry jam

3/4 cup 0% milk

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/8 tsp apple pie spice

Directions:

1. Mix together cream cheese and 2 tbs strawberry jam

2. Cut bread in half vertically & fold over {like a sandwich} adding 1 tsp jam mixture in the center

3. Combine eggs, milk, apple pie spice, vanilla. Dip bread into mixture then transfer to skillet.

4. Cook on medium 2-3 minutes on each side.

5.  Microwave 1/2 cup strawberry jam {syrup}

6. Transfer french toast to plate and cover in the microwaved strawberry jam

RECIPE TIPS:

This recipe was EASY. Don't let the ingredients & directions scare you away. I'm pretty good at improvising when it comes to ingredients. I didn't have apple pie spice, so instead I used cinnamon with a pinch of nutmeg as well. It was awesome!

Breakfast is served! We had the stuffed french toast with a fruit smoothie and eggs. He loved it. ;)

After breakfast I told Brandon we had to be out of the door by 8:00. Brandon is hard to surprise because ALL he does is ask questions and try to guest. So, whenever I have surprises for him, I just say idk, idk, idk, stop asking! So, we left out of the house about 8:10. Had to stop by the ATM and BAM. He guessed our next stop. 'Are we going to the Downtown Market?!' I just smiled and tried not to giggle... 'That's why you have to get cash out, because we're going to the Market, huh?' Well, he may have guessed it, but at least next time I know to get ALL possible evidence before hand. 

As we were getting close to the market he said, 'I know why you do all these surprises...it's so we can go where you want to go without me telling you no.' Haha! He is such a punk. The answer to that is... yes & no. I knew he would love the market too. It's always so neat to go down there and check everything out.

We bought one thing and it was one thing I knew I wanted to get...

Local Honey!

I love this stuff because it's healthy, tasty, and good for allergies.

Then we stopped by our old house to check and see if there was any mail. During this stop Brandon managed to ding my door. :( Sad day for my sweet Honda. However, great news! Got it fixed. The perks to working at a car dealership.

After the ding, we went to the gym and got in a good work. I ran 2.5 miles outside. My weather app said 79, so I thought hey that's not too bad! Wrong. It was smokin', but I pushed through! Then we headed out to his work to grab some paperwork. Brandon took me on my own little private tour of some secret stuff. Made me feel special. It was pretty cool. :) I love learning about his crazy job!

After that I took him to the last secret location. We recently got a Which Wich in town and neither of us had every eaten there. I took him here as a surprise and he was so excited! It was SO awesome!!

 After that we went home and lounged around till it was time for dinner with mom and dad.

Jax LOVES riding to grandma and grandpas!

 Brandon patted out some burgers. They were pretty awesome!

This is his plate...not mine. Shocker. Look at all that food. He is such a pig, and yes! He ate it all.

Ok, ya'll. Blizzard of the month is awesome! I'm not a chocolate, chocolate, chocolate fan...but man was this great! Better go try it before it's gone! :)
