Remember Friday's Post? Specifically the part where Brandon texted me about me being ready at 7 for a surprise date? Well, we didn't get to go. Bummer. Womp womp...
BUT, that's because muah, my mom, and Brandon's mom Joanne, pulled off the greatest surprise of all time!
Friday at 4:30 Brandon's mom flew into BNA and mom & dad picked her up from the airport. So, instead of getting butterflies and giggling like a school girl when he texted me about the surprise date, I almost threw up! I was already a nervous wreck praying that within the last 24 hours he didn't find out, so this totally sent me over the edge. I instantly starting freaking and my lovely co-workers calmly said, 'Just go with it... He will be completely pre-occupied!' Uh, duh... I thought, after I took a deep breathe. So I played along all day bugging the mess out of him about where he was taking me and how he's the sweetest husband in the whole wide world.
I got home from work and did everything possible for that next hour and a half to avoid him. I did some chores, prepared some things for the house warming party, and frantically texted mom while he was upstairs in the bonus room watching the Olympics!
So when mom said she was getting off the exit, I went upstairs and said, 'Hey babe, can you come and help me pick out what I'm going to wear tonight?' He came downstairs and into the bathroom & closet. I had him sit on the edge of the Jacuzzi tub. He wanted to sit on the bed, but that was a big NO because you can see the front yard through the dinning room window! Anyways, he sat on the edge and I shut the closet door, held up a dress, opened the door, and showed him the dress. Still in my work clothes, with the dress on the hanger in front of me, I obviously looked like a wierd-o because I shut the door for that. I did that about 5 times, shaking to death I was so nervous, but the reason behind shutting the door was so I could peek out the window to see if they had pulled up! Once they had pulled up he was in the closet trying to match his outfit to mine the best he could, I was completely checked out by then. And then the door bell rang.
Really confused he said, 'Who is that?' I just shrugged my shoulders. He walked to the door, me and Jax following right behind! He stopped, looked down at what he was wearing {gym shorts and a t-shirt} and then opened the door.
He just just stood there.
Then Joanne said, 'Hi Brandon!' He reached out and gave her a great big hug! I was jumping up and down yelling, 'We did it! We did it!' So thrilled to have pulled that surprise off for him!
We gave Joanne the grand tour then ended in the bonus room watching the Olympics and chatting... Brandon talking 5 miles a minute, because he was so excited!
Starving we finally left to grab some dinner. We went to Pancho Villa to get some Mexican and chill out with a Margarita! Mango, and this is a medium? Good grief! I'd hate to see their large!
Saturday morning I got up super early and went for a 2 mile run. It's a lot easier to push yourself up that hill after that Margarita the night before. ;) It was so peaceful at 6am!
After my run I made some
Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 tbs vegetable oil
2 handfuls of blueberries
Directions:
1. In a bowl combine all dry ingredients.
2. Stir in oil, eggs, and blueberries
3. Pour onto skillet on medium heat.
4. Enjoy!
After breakfast me and boy spent some time with Jesus on the bed doing our quiet time. Actually, he watched the birds from the window... ;)
We headed to the downtown market to show Joanne what all the fuss was about. The fresh vegetables, fruits, the handmade crafts. So fun! She actually treated me to this cute key chain I've been eyeing everytime we go. When we walked by I looked up at Brandon and said, 'I really want that keychain...' Then Joanne hopped in and said, 'Go pick one out! I'll get it for you.' So sweet :)
After the market we met up with mom and dad and headed to Patti's Settlement for lunch. YUM!
While in the bathroom I snapped a picture of Pee-Wee and had to send it to the bro, Michael. He responded with: 'Take a picture it will last longer.' Definitely the response I was hoping for. Haha
Patti's is so pretty and we all had the best time!
Me and Brandon in front of the water wheel. It was so hot I wanted to dive in!

We got to go around to look at all the cool shops. My favorite one? The Vera Bradley! Perfect timing, just like last year, to make my birthday list! ;)
Later that evening Joanne and I got to spend some girl time together drinking wine and doing our nails.
It was so fun-and nice to finally have some one on one time! :)
Thursday's Post... Housewarming Party!
