Oh, Valentines Day. Yes, we celebrate it!
Valentines Morning I woke up to this sweetness. Chocolates and tart conversation hearts. Yum. Two of my favorites.
This little cutie was my Valentine this year. Sorry Brandon, but thanks for the treats anyways!
Just kidding. ;) I got Brandon a box of heart chocolates too! And a new marriage bible study for us to do. That was his gift this year. Keeping it real with our marriage and Jesus! Marriage can be tough, always gotta be intentional!
I also left him with these little snacks and love notes as a surprise through out his day.
Of course I had to add some AdvoCare products in there!
When I asked Brandon a few days before what he wanted to do for Valentines Day, he said.. 'Well, we can fight the crowds and go to dinner. Or we can just stay in and do something chill at the house.' We chose to stay in! I asked for grilled steaks, a sweet potato, and whatever kinda veggie.
Friday night when I got home from work I found this surprise.
Swirlz painting at home!
We had a few helpers on our date. :)
So Brandon picked the painting and everything. So grateful for him being so thoughtful. Such a wonderful date night! We chose green as the color because that is the color of most of our house. Then there was a heart on the painting, which of course we chose red.
So once we got the red and green on there.. I sat back and then we had a little conversation that went something like this:
Brandon: 'This kinda looks like a watermelon.'
Me: 'Yeahhhh..'
Brandon: 'This kinda looks like Christmas.'
Me: 'Yeahhh...'
Brandon: 'I think we messed up.'
Me: 'Yeahhh..'
Brandon: 'Do you wanna stop?'
Me: 'Yeah...'
Friday afternoon and night it rained. A ton. So it was raining to bad to grill steaks so Brandon baked them. They turned out rubbery. Then the asparagus turned out a little mushy. The sweet potatoes were great!
I loved that we were able to laugh about the whole evening. The thought is what counts. Even though it was a little crazy and unexpected.. it was a wonderful Valentines Day!
aww what a cute idea!!! what a sweet hubby!!!
