With Mother's Day coming up I've been doing so much reflecting on the precious gift of Motherhood that God has blessed me with. I've made a list of some of 12 of my favorite mommy & baby items. Things that I absolutely could never live with out and love having on a daily basis!
I have this carseat canopy with Bennett's name stitched in. I love it. It was AWESOME during the winter months. Cool nights, rainy days, sunny days, during nap time. Also keeps the germy hands in walmart away when napping. :)
2. My Pal Scout
Now that Bennett is getting older, My Pal Scout is so fun for him! You can program it to say his name, favorite food, color, songs, etc. Everytime it lights up and talks to him he gets a huge smile on his face and he hugs him and tries to eat him. So funny! I know that as he gets older he will love him more and more. (There is also a girl version. ;))
3. This recalled monkey teether
I love this squeaky teether. Bennett chews on it ALL the time. We've nicknamed it monk monk. However, we are on the hunt for a replacement lion & cow.
4. The Wubanub. Or as we call it, 'The Wub'
We lucked up and got 3 of these through gifts for Bennett before he was born. We have a dino, monkey, and frog. It's the same paci that they give you in the hospital only it comes with a little stuffed animal attached. Genius if you ask me. It has gotten us through countless peaceful nights of sleep, stayed propped up in the carseat when he was an infant, and now he can grab it and put it in his mouth, take it out and swing it around. What's even better? You can just throw it in the wash! Praise Jesus from the mother of a reflux babe.
5. Vicks Cool Mist Filter Free Humidifier
Love this humidifier. Easy to clean. We have to run it every night because of Bennett's allergies. What's even more awesome about it is there's a little pocket where you can stick a vicks tab to help him breath even better at night when he is stuffy!
6. Target diapers
I heard all the wonderful stories of Target diapers even before Bennett was born. They're the cheapest and hold up VERY well. We started buying these when Bennett was at size 3. I used Pampers up until then just to make sure we got through the early stages of sensitive skin, etc. These have been amazing for us and they're extremely cheap! Win-win!
7. Motorola Video Monitor
Obsessed is not even the word for this monitor. We LOVE it. We've got the camera mounted on the wall. You can move the camera around (now that he's wiggling all around the crib it comes in handy). You can hear him, see him, talk to him through the monitor. It's crystal clear! What's even more awesome? When baby number two, three, four (kidding.. kind of) You can just add cameras!
8. Tommee Tippee Bottles
Love these bottles! Was clueless when it came to what bottles and all that junk. But these have been great for us!
9. Tomme Tippee Microwave Sterilizer
This thing.. awesome! I have never boiled bottles before.. like wha? I wash them with soap and water, pile them up in here, add 6 oz of water to the bottom, pop in the microwave for 4 mintues and ta-da! Clean bottles.
10. Britax Car Mirror
I wasn't too crazy about the idea of this at first, but wow. This is incredible. I love this exact one. It's huge and obnoxious but I can see Bennett perfectly! It's great for when he's crying. I can see what's wrong. And if he's quiet I can see that it's because it's snoozing. I can see where his wub is if I need to reach back and give him a hand. And now's it's crazy awesome.. because I can look back and smile and talk to him and he can see me. Oh, melting that mommy heart!
11. Pottery Barn Rolly Diaper Bag
A diaper bag is something I stressed and stressed ... and stressed over. I saw my girlfriend one day with this back pack and I fell in love. It makes so much sense. It's got plenty of room, it rolls, you can strap it on your back so that it's hands free, and it's appropriate for dad to carry! ;)
12. Last but NOT least, what I start my everyday off with.. SPARK!
3-4 hours of mental focus & energy. No crash and jitters. That saying.. 'If momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy?' #truth I know that Bennett loves when I have my SPARK!
We have that same monkey teether and Haley loves it. I didn't know it was recalled. We bought it a couple of weeks ago at Target. We also have that same humidifier and it was a life-saver and sleep-saver when Haley got her first cold. We used the vicks thing on it too and it was great. Love the last quote. I have that hanging in my house, minus the spark part. It's a great reminder.
