Aubrey's Nursery

17 June 2015

Over the last 5 months I've been pinning, collecting, prepping and last but not least NESTING and getting our baby girls room ready for her! I had in my mind exactly an idea of what I wanted it to look like, but when it was finished, it was better then I had imagined! With the help of my awesome husband we picked things together and this is what the final room looks like!

Brandon stenciled the wall.

It was a process, but this is what he had to say about it, 'Finished product... Ya know it's funny. Anyone who knows me know Ive always got my nose in a leadership development book to help me gain perspective and grow as a person. Recently, I read about the difference between viewing tasks as an OBLIGATION vs an OPPORTUNITY. Over the span of 4 hours that it took me to stencil that wall and piece together Aubreys crib, I found myself from time to time becoming frustrated. I allowed my mind to drift off into wonderland about what else I could be doing with my time... Looking at the construction process as an OBLIGATION. And then it hit me. Serving my daughter by tediously building the room that we will welcome her into our home in is such an incredible OPPORTUNITY! What a blessing to be able to spend valuable time adding comfort and love to her life! What are you taking for granted on a daily basis that you could view as an opportunity vs an obligation?'

Wooden monogram: ordered off Easy and we spray painted it gold.
Lamp stand: Walmart
Shade: Target.
Gold Curtains: Bed Bath & Beyond.

Bedding:
There was nothing I could find that I liked so I decided to make her bedding! With a lot of help from a sweet friend, a quilter and my mom! With the help of everyone it came together exactly how I hoped. The quilt, bedskirt and pink pillow were all made.
The gold & white pillow came from Hobby Lobby.

Vase: was once a rusty orange color and a decor piece from our what once was a guest room, we decided to keep it and paint it pink!
Picture: Hobby Lobby
The pink new testament bible is a one of a kind. My mom bought that for me and presented it to me at MY baby shower. When mom gave it to me she said, 'I almost gave it to you when you had Bennett, but I decided to hang onto it because I knew you would have a girl some day!'

Light fixture: Home Depot

Pillow: Overstock
Wooden Picture: Hobby Lobby, You can't see it, but in gold it says, 'Start each day with a grateful heart'

Mirror: Hobby Lobby
A: Kirklands
Pink Glass Decor: Also, was once a mustard yellow and a piece in our guest room, we painted it pink!
Gold Frame: TJ Maxx

The two prints are custom prints from: Ink & Rye

Diaper bag: Thirty One. From my AWESOME sister! Best thing about it is the material it's made of and that there is an insulated section. Yay for breastmilk storing!!!!
Our packed and ready area. :)

Absolute must haves: Bloomers, slippers, gripe water, and Pampers sensitive wipes & diapers.

Closet Organization. This brown piece was once in Bennett's closet, but he's outgrown the bibs, burp clothes, wraps, etc!

And last but not least, here she is!! She's here!!!
J/k. That's Bennett's pretend sister for now! ;)
