Five on Friday!

18 November 2016

It's Friday! I work from home and create my own schedule so the 'Friday Feels' honestly don't apply to me like they did when I worked an 8-5. But I love this idea to highlight 5 things through out the week that I want to ensure that I document. Here we go!

#1. Daddy's Girl
This picture. (heart throb). So sweet. Aubrey sure does love her "dada". He walks around the corner and she just throws a fit! She smiles so big and screams "dada" and usually some random 1 year old grunt or scream comes with it. This picture was actually taken last Saturday morning. Bennett was out of town. I was headed to the gym so Brandon and Aubrey went on a daddy-daughter breakfast date to cracker barrel. I love his love for her. I know that this relationship has only just begun. I can't wait to see it flourish as the years go on.

2. Jaxon and a giggle.
Here is a pretty accurate picture of what our bonus room/play room looks like 99% of the time. The 1% is after 8:30pm where I clean up and exhale in relief that my house is not in fact a giant toy pit. The other day I was playing with Aubrey and one side of the room and Bennett was on the other. I get up and look over and see this. Jaxon. In the middle of the blocks. All I can honestly do at this point is laugh. I remember the days when it was just Jaxon and all his stuffed squeaky toys. I love life. I love how it evolves with each season. Jaxon is such a good big brother.
*Those other 10 toes belong to Bennett.

 #3 Moo Muffins & Shoes
From time to time I'll grab a bag of muffin mix at the store and we will make muffins for breakfast. They are crazy easy. Mix + 1/2 cup of milk and wah-lah! Muffins. It is no secret that Bennett and Aubrey love Mickey Mouse Club House. On one of the episodes they talk about "moo muffins". So now, that's to Mickey that's what we always have when we have muffins.
Brandon's mom gave me the cute towel hanging with Santa on it. I used to have a cute dish towel hanging there all the time until Bennett started walking. That ship sailed because I would always find it somewhere other than hanging up right there. I attempted to put this up and believe it or not it HASN'T MOVED! An OCD mom's dream come true. I haven't found it in our bedroom, in the toy bin, on the couch... It's been here every time. When I showed Aubrey the towel I said, "Look Aubrey! What is this!?" She stared.. I waited... then she points with a big chunky smile - super proud like and said, "SHOOOOOOES!" I died laughing. What a girly answer. Of course that's what the little diva sees.

#4. Body Pump
Wow. So, I will have to say when I first started my fitness journey (you can read more about that here) I started off just dipping my toes into it and went to a few classes. Step, bootcamp, etc. That was just a short season because I eventually got introduced to the weight room and fell in love. I remember that the classes were good but I forgot how good. I decided a few weeks ago to join check out the classes at our local gym. I stepped into body pump and haven't looked back! It's such a fun environment and a full body workout in 1 hour. It gets your heart rate up and I love a good challenging resistance workout. After the first class I couldn't walk for a week. But I eventually went back. I've been 6+ times now and I'm really enjoying it! Never again will I shrug off that a gym class is easy.

#5 My little climber
Meet Aubrey. She is the curious one. Isn't it funny how when you only have 1 child you are like, "Omg I can't keep up with you!" And then you have two and you are like, "Psh that was a piece of cake back then." Aubrey is ALWAYS on the go. We have to watch her like a hawk. Of course when have the house childproof. Plug covers on every. single. plug. Baby gates EVERYWHERE. Essentially no more cute home decor because it ultimately turns into a toy. Well anyways, Aubrey is our climber. Bennett was/is not. She climbed on the couch long before Bennett did. Also on the kitchen table. Yes. The table. Up the OUTSIDE of the stairs. Yep. Well last night it was about 4:30. We are downstairs and I hear I climbing up in the highchair. I look over and she is trying to buckle herself in. Wow! Must be hungry. I am standing here taking a picture of her and then all of a sudden she is standing up IN the chair with her foot on the back of the highchair. Laaaaaaawd help me. Mercy. She's a handful! But we sure do lover our curious little monkey.
