Bowling, Party, Father's Day!

20 June 2011

Friday after work Brandon and I went straight to Walmart to do a little grocery shopping. I've got a new thing for cooking. I love food, Brandon loves food, and I LOVE trying new recipes! {& Brandon loves eating them} New addiction for sure. Friday night I cooked a mexican dish, go figure. Main ingredient? Chicken! It was awesome!

Mexican Chicken Casserole

Ingredients:
3-4 Chicken breasts, boiled and cut into bite size pieces
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can rotel
1-2 cups cheddar cheese
Package of corn tortillas (small)

Directions:
1. Tear the tortillas into small pieces and line the bottom of a pan.
2. Mix together the soups, rotel and chicken and pour on top.
3. Top with cheddar cheese.
4. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes of until cheese is bubbly.

Michael came over for dinner and we all grubbed and it was gone by morning time! After we ate we met up with some other friends to do a little bowling. I am terrible at bowling, unless I'm playing on our Wii. BUT, I always have the best time!

Loved the pink ball!

Friends!

Saturday morning, Brandon got breakfast in bed. Man, he is spoiled!

Saturday was a big special day. Me and my friend Jessica, who I met through Michael, planned a big surprise going away party for Michael, since he is moving to Florida this Friday. Sad. :( It was a Field Day/Slip N Slide Party. We played games and had tons of food and a big GIANT slip n slide! It started off storming that morning and didn’t clear up until around 1:00. Tons of food, friends, games, and fun! It was a blast! And can you believe it?! He didn't find out and it was a big surprise!!

Michael get the slip n slide slippery! It looked like a ton of fun. I couldn't participate...stupid wounds :/ But hopefully there will be another chance this summer!

Michael being a big baby, as usual. Just kidding! We had two baby pools and filled them up with water. The games was to wear depends and soak up water, whoever fills up the cup at the end first, wins!

Ashley and I got our workout on.

FATHER'S DAY!

Sunday was Father's Day and what a great day it was! Usually we go to my Mawmaw's house to pig out and enjoy the country, but this time we had some family out of town and had Michael's going away cookout. We had, again, more food! Hotdogs, Hamburgers, and tons of sides! I made some pizza dip-OMG. It was a hit and it was amazing. I have a picture of the empty bowl...but it's on mom's camera. It was super easy!

For Father's Day, Brandon and I got my dad a fire pit! But, we tricked him. First we got him a gift bag with graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows. He was SO grateful. I was like, "Dad, these are so we can have smores after you cook the hamburgers!" He hugged me and Brandon and went on with his cooking. Mom then called him inside to "look at something." Brandon ran to the car, got out the fire pit, and set it right in front of the grill. I called dad outside and Brandon said, "Here's your real gift!" He was so excited. He's always wanted a fire pit, but it's one of those things you just put off and put off. Best thing about this gift? It's something we can steal to entertain our own guests. ;)

Later on that afternoon the ice cream man game by. Not quite the ice cream man that I remember from back in my day, but hey, it worked and cooled me down!

Here's the fam-as you can tell, dad must be allergic to cotton like my brother.

Another great weekend come and gone...my how time moves on so fast!
