Lots o' Recipes & a DIY project!

19 September 2011

Well, great news! My best friend is home! I couldn't be happier. You know, lots of wives take the simplest things for granted when it comes to the man of the house. Like, opening a jar, rolling the trash can to the road, or even waking up beside him. If you husband is home everyday...you should be grateful. I sure am when mine is! :)

Gonna kinda skip around some and highlight the important things from the weekend. I picked up Brandon from the airport and it was definitely movie scene {gag} I know. Very sweet though. Gosh I missed that gorgeous man. we had a Cracker Barrel breakfast date, yum! I got my healthy morning sampler. So delish.

Sunday afternoon we had a Rives family reunion. Which is my moms side of the family. It was fun! Frisbee, corn hole, LOTS of food. I mean, yeah. Look at Brandon's plateS.

Yeah...

I made a yummy finger food to take to the reunion. I guess since I'm married I have to :) So, I brought bigger pigs in a blanket. Wanted to try something new...

Saturday before Brandon got home I did a DIY project and some decorating. I love my wifey chores.

New piece for our coffee table

When we left the recpetion from our wedding, our car was all done up in the Just Married stuff. Inside were cow bells, tissues, and this really cute sign that says 'Love'. I love this sign SO much. The only problem is, it's black. I wanted to hang it in our bedroom for the longest time, but our bedroom theme is brown and green. So, I finally got smart and crafty...I went to walmart and got a texture spray, sprayed the sign and a few REALLY cheap black frames I had laying around and made a nice little wall decor piece all by myself :)

Before

Close up of how awesome the brown was. It has little shimmers of gold in it!

Finished project!

He was very proud of me. I am so glad my Brandon is home. Today we are going to see The Lion King 3D. OH YEAH! CAN'T WAIT! :)
