Lots to play catch up on!
Rewinding to Wednesday after work... Brandon and I cleaned up my car in the driveway. This is what Jax did...
Peepin in the bonus room!
I do have a great reason for not blogging in so long. Thursday, my half birthday, I had surgery.
I left work at 1:00 to go to my book club lunch date. I know, right? I can't believe those words just came out of my mouth. NERD. I know. But, my sister, mom, and I are reading The Hunger Games together. There are 3 parts in the book, so we read a 'part' then meet for lunch. Not only does it give is something GOOD to do in our spare time, it also keeps us connected-as you all know life always gets in the way. But not when there is a good book around! So, we met at Subway and discussed the book. Good times!
After lunch I went home to get ready for surgery. I had a little bit of time to kill and since it was SO gorgeous outside, I went out and threw the ball with Jax. He was loving the weather!
I went in at 3:00 for an in office procedure and Brandon was there to hold my hand. I took a Zanax before so that I would be calm when he started the surgery. The cyst was on my back in between my left shoulder blade and spine.
When he called me back the Zanax hadn't really taken effect yet, so I was REALLY nervous. I got ready for surgery and he came in to start the procedure. Brandon stood there beside me the whole time holding my hand. :) The only thing that hurts is the needle and numbing medicine. The poke and then the burning and stinging. Ouch. So, I start sweating and squeezing Brandon's hand. The Zanax then kicks in and start to smile when I hear Brandon say, 'Boy!' Because I know he's talking about Jaxon. And I say it back over and over until I can't feel anything anymore.
Once I'm numb I let go on the death grip I have on Brandon's hand and begin to fall asleep. That Zanax is a powerful drug! I almost slept through the whole procedure. After he got the cyst out, stitched me up {inside & out}, I was all done!
We headed home after the procedure and Brandon stopped and got me a treat. I love sour and I love slushies. The place that has the best combo is Fazoli's!
Later that night after dinner I passed out! I don't even remember falling asleep. I was so out of it, because of all the pills! I woke up in so much pain. I have realized that a local won't stay numb for a few days like an actual surgery will. So, I unexpectedly woke up in tons of pain. Brandon gave me a pain pill and then I was out for the rest of night.
The next morning I woke up feeling, not myself, and tried to get ready for work. Then I got sick... I called in and told them I was going to be a little late for work. I laid in the bed and went back to sleep. I woke up at 11 feeling much, much better. I fixed some Beefaroni {Oh yeah!} Went upstairs, ate, took a pain pill, and started to get ready for work. Before I knew it...I was throwing up again. Yuck! I got sick a total of 5 times that day. At first I thought it was the pain pills. To take a pain pill, you have to eat so you have something on your stomach, then take it. Well, every time I ate and took one, I got sick. Then I realized that I've never gotten sick over the pain pills before, duh! So, mom diagnosed me with a 24 hour stomach bug. Not only was I dying in pain from surgery, because I wasn't able to take a pain pill, but I caught a lovely stomach bug. Joy!
Luckily, mom found some phenergan, Brandon picked it up and the day was saved! When I was laying there waiting for the phenergan to kick in Brandon kept asking me what I wanted to do, which was nothing. I just wanted to lay there because I was miserable. He asked if I wanted my Kindle and read and I said no, because it made me dizzy. Then he asked if I wanted him to read to me. I said, 'Really?....Do you want to?' And he said, 'Sure why not? I don't have anything else to do.' And that one little chapter got him hooked! Once the phenergan kicked in I was able to eat and actually keep some stuff of my stomach. My favorite go to when I'm sick is the Soup At Hand!
Yum, yum! After that I kept down a pain pill and was finally relieved. What a difference those things make, especially after surgery!
Glad everything went ok with the surgery and that the 24 hour bug is gone!!! Hope your recovery is quick ;)
