Valentines Day Link Up! + Recipe

14 February 2012

Being as it's Valentines Day I figured it would be appropriate to do a Valentines Day link up!
Today I am linking up with Becky over at
From Mrs. to Mama.

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?
Been together: 1 year and 10 months
Married: Today marks 9 months!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}
Wrote all about it, here!

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}
9 loooooooong months ♥
Kidding. Being married to Brandon is like being married to my best friend!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding? If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?
We got married in my home town at my memaw's church. It was beautiful. You can see our wedding, here. It was, medium.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!
Dummy & Big Dummy.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.
This is hard, there are way more then three. So cliche.
1. I love how he always makes me smile, no matter what's going on.
2. I love how committed to our relationship he is.
3. I love that he is ridiculous and crazy, but goal driven and a hard worker.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?
You can read about the proposal, here. :)

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?
Flowers and Teddy Bear! All the way.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?
Well, if we had a beach to have a sunset dinner on, I would be the kind of girl. But, since we don't I love a movie in on the couch night!

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?
Well, we have quite the bucket list. Brandon wants to go to Brazil and that would be awesome! But, I would also love to go to St. Lucia! I heard the beach there is beautiful and that the weather is gorgeous all the time. I would want us to go zip lining, scuba diving, and stay in a little house right off the beach. Having my best friend there to do it with me would make it perfect!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.
You will have to wait and see! ;)

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?
I didn't ask, but I did do some pretty good 'hinting'.

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.
Both parties have to be committed to always communicating the best the can. If there is a problem, don't sweep it under the rug. Address it immediately.

14. Show us a picture of what love means to you.
Love is...knowing that in 50 years you'll be looking over at the other rocking chair on the porch and seeing your best friend. {Possibly making faces at you.}

Now it's time to play a little bit of catch up...

So, over the weekend we kinda bought a new bedroom suite. I am pumped!!!!

The one we have been using is one my parents bought for me before I graduated, like a 'big girl' present. It's a queen, so we wanted more room, a new mattress, a bigger dresser and things like that. So we bought this one from our girl at Furnish 123 that we have been eyeing for quite some time! We're getting it delivered this Friday and I am so excited! We put up the bedroom furniture last night on Craigslist. As soon as we put it up I went downstairs to clean up the kitchen from dinner, take off my nail polish and then headed back upstairs and Brandon was talking to someone about the furniture and it was sold! That to me is God telling us that it was the right decision. So, now I'm even more excited!

Lately I have been rockin' an Essie color I borrowed from Fran...I gave it to her for Christmas! ;) Essie: 'Berry Naughty' It is a great color!

Last night I made an amazing new healthy dish! I saved it from a magazine. It wasn't healthy, go figure. But I made it that way!

Italian Turkey Sausage with Whole Wheat Rigatoni

Ingredients:
1 red pepper
1 tsp garlic
1 pkg of turkey sausage {brauts}
1 jar of spaghetti sauce {we use light ragu basil & tomato}
1 box of whole wheat rigatoni

Directions:
1. Cook the pasta
2. Grill or cook the sausage on the stove
3. Saute the chopped red onion & garlic
4. Combine all ingredients into a pan and cook for 5 minutes

You'll notice in the picture there is some spices. I always throw all kinds of stuff in my meals. If it's Mexican my go to is chili powder and ground cumin. If it's Italian I stick with basil. And I ALWAYS use crushed red pepper. Yum!

Friday night we hung out with a sweet couple and had a great time!
Gotta love double dates :)

Cynthia!

This is funny, yes. Hahaha

Ok, so I got this pretty sweet new ap. Check it out;

Funny right?

Saturday Brandon surprised me with a day date, but I will post about that later on this week. :)

Happy Valentines Day Friends!
