Four Day Weekend Fun!

29 October 2012

Since Brandon was recently deployed my sweet boss was kind enough to let me play hooky from work so we could spend a couple days together. We both took a Thursday and Friday so we could enjoy a long weekend! We didn't go anywhere, which was fine with me, because we did a bunch of nothing. And it was awesome!

I made some new pancakes!

Protein Pumpkin Pancakes
Ingredients:
1 scoop protein powder
1/2 cup pumpkin
1/2 tsp cinnamon (or 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice + 1/4 tsp cinnamon)
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 egg whites
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup + 2 tbs water
3-5 packets splenda

Directions:
1. Blend all ingredients together in blender.
2. Pour servings onto medium-high heat skillet/
3. Cook until done and enjoy!

Brandon has been doing classes for work a lot lately, so while he does that,
I get to hang out with the pretty pretty princess, Bella. She's such a cutie.

How could you not love this sweet face?

Also got time to do my devotional. I'm currently reading the book Sun Stand Still. It's pretty deep, so to make sure that I fully grasp everything from it, I've turned it into a bible study and am taking my time on it and taking notes. Good stuff so far!

Thursday night we watched Dark Shadows. Great Redbox. Totally worth a buck! It's one of those I wished we would have seen in theater because it was that good. But with Johnny Depp in it, should have known better. Duh!

Friday morning had some breakfast wraps. Easy + really healthy breakfast!

We went to the gym I got some laps in. Unfortunately my foot is not doing too hot, so back to the pool I go. The first swim it always the worst and I thought I was gonna drown. I love it though. Swimming is definitely one of my favorite cardio routines!

After the gym we went to the movies to see Pitch Perfect. Hilarious does not describe this movie. It was so funny. All the actors were perfect for it! The movies are so expensive these days,
but this one I was glad we paid for!

Friday night I got to do this...

While Brandon cooked this! Believe it or not, he knows how to cook! I guess he needs to start cooking more often, yes?
Low Fat Spicy Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Saturday we hung out with mom and dad. We went to the Mennonites and Sams Club!

At Sams we always get Jaxon some dog food.
I guess he was ready to take on the whole bag we got him...

Speaking of Jax.. We loved being home with him all weekend!

He's my favorite <3

Saturday night we triple dated and hung out with some friends from our community group. You know you'll have fun times when there's buffalo chicken dip and good friends involved!

We went to a haunted house, but unfortunately I chickened out. No shock, I guess. I love a scary movie, but not a Haunted House. I was going to go through until the guys that work there started messing with me and then Jason walked behind Brandon and I was like nope! And turned around and left. Maybe next time.

Sunday morning I made the easiest waffles ever. Seriously. Thanks to Pinterest, I found this.

Three Step Cinnamon Roll Waffles
1. Place 3 cinnamon rolls on the waffle iron.
2. Close & hold shut at first until they smash down.
3. Top with the icing from the cinnamon rolls.

We went to church Sunday. It was such a beautiful day! This is a picture I took driving past the pumpkin patch.

We went to my fave Mexican restaurant after church. Yum!

We napped and watched the Titans lose. Bummer. Then cooked some dinner for mom and dad. We had a Rachel Ray dish I watched her make on TV. Oh man. It was good.
