We've finally gotten a few things accomplished with the nursery and it's so exciting seeing it come together piece by piece. I love being able to keep the door open now and walking by and seeing painted walls and seeing actual furniture in the room.
Last week we went to Nashville one night after work to pick up a crib that Brandon's mom got for us as an early gift! Fun stuff!
Then one day at my lunch break last week I picked up the mattress! That was a tough decision. Geez! There's so many different types and kinds and worrying about possible allergic reactions and suffocating. What?! Holy smokes. After tons of research we decided to go with a foam mattress!
Once we {Brandon} finally got some spare time he started painting! Painting fumes are good for Baby Forbes so we had to sit outside in the hall. We decided to do a baby blue wall for the wall that will be behind the crib and light gray wall for the rest of the walls in the room. It was so exciting painting, because this is the first time we've ever painted in our house!
This brat. Him and Trigger were told several times they couldn't be in the room. Last thing I needed to be doing was scrubbing paint paw prints off the floors! Of course he just had to stretch his arms past the door line. Rotten. He was like, 'What? I'm not technically in the room...'
Blue wall complete! Starting to trim for the gray walls.
Painting, painting, painting. Almost done, just rolling the gray walls!
Once the walls were finished drying we put the crib together. It was so exciting seeing it out of the box. Like, a real crib! In our house! Being built and put together for our son to sleep in at night!
Ta-Da! All done! We got a baby blue and white chevron sheet that ended up matching the wall color perfectly. And the blanket hanging is a sweet friend that got us a monogrammed blanket when we found out we were expecting that says, 'Baby Forbes'.
All we need now is our sweet Bennett to lay in here!
P.S. Crib has been tested and approved by older brothers!
LOVE all that your doing with the nursery! Its looking fantastic!
