This Weekend I...

06 May 2013

Today I'm linking up with Sarah for

This weekend I... got to do double unders for the first time. Correction: I got to attempt to try double unders for the first time. Hard. So hard. Obviously I can jump rope with the best of them, but getting double unders is going to be a technique and skill that I master. Time to start practicing!

This weekend I... Enjoyed the Tennessee weather guessing games. Is it going to rain, be cold, is that sun gonna shine? Your guess was as good as the meteorologist, because they definitely have no clue what's going on.

This weekend we... went to the AdvoCare Spring Breakthrough Event in Nashville. Good stuff! We got to hear some wonderful speakers talk about the financial freedom that they have found through AdvoCare. What I love the most about AdvoCare is that it offers two key things for helping people: Health & Finances. AdvoCare has already done wonders for our little family and I can't wait to help share it with others who are looking for a life full of freedom!

The three of us... ;)

Goodies from the AdvoCare Event! New bag, water bottle, and a book I can't wait to dive head first into!

Saturday afternoon we got some nursery projects done. Blog about that coming soon!

Sunday morning we woke up bright and early ready for the day! Got laundry going, made the bed, and I pulled everything out of the cabinets to make wheat chocolate chip pancakes that I have been wanting for the past week, when.. boom. The power went out. Brandon walks into the kitchen and says, 'Did we not pay the electric bill?' Good grief. 'Yes dear! We paid the electric bill.'

After sitting around twiddling our thumbs for 30 minutes we decided to hit Cracker Barrel for breakfast since we had no power. Oh darn! ;) Got their french toast for the first time. Oh my gosh. STAY AWAY!

After cracker barrel, Brandon went to some Crossfit training and I took a nap. The joys of pregnancy...being able to sleep literally anywhere, anytime.

I woke up from my nap feeling like Betty Crocker so I looked up a yummy home made cookie recipe and got to work!

Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies

While I was in the kitchen baking cookies Brandon walked in from working out and said he had something for me and numbered me rules 1-147. No looking in the garage, no leaving the kitchen, no looking out the front window, etc, etc. After about 10 minutes he came into the kitchen, told me to close my eyes, and walked me into the living room. When I opened my eyes he said, 'Happy Mother's Day!' I was so surprised!! My mouth dropped and I said a mixture of, 'I'm not a mother yet/it's not mother's day/OMG!' I found out a few weeks ago that due to work Brandon was going to be missing Mother's Day. Of course I was all dramatic, 'Omg, you're going to miss my first Mother's Day!' {Insert extremely dramatic whine & pouty face.} But, it hadn't been brought up since, so when he surprised me with this, I really was surprised. There was even a sweet hand made card in there from him and Bennett.

For dinner we had Dashing Dish's Skinny Buffalo Chicken Chili with Mom's Mexican Cornbread! When we sat down for dinner I realized it was Cinco De Mayo, so it was perfect!

What'd you do this weekend? Link up!
