A Beautiful Nayol Polish Review

Now you understand the title of this blog.

Anyways.. I have always had nail issues. Always. They crack at the ends and they split. They peel. They bend and they just never can get it together. Ever since I have been pregnant I haven't had these 'long glorious nails' that I keep reading about in the pregnancy books. Wish I had them! But, no such thing. If anything, they've gotten worse. I'd paint my nails and after a day or two the ends would start to chip. Frustrating. I've had gel nails, loved them. But, I didn't have time to get them done and really didn't care about paying for them. Other then that, they looked great for the two weeks they were done! A girlfriend tried shellac, but it's basically the same process. You either have to go in to get them done or soak them off. 'Ain't nobody got time for that'. 

A few weeks ago I started doing research and weighing the pros and cons of different options. Gel nails? No. Shellac? Nah. Pink Diamond Infomercial Stuff? No thanks. At home UV gel nail kits? No. Then I stumbled across this picture on my IG feed...

Whether you have thick beautiful nails, or stupid ones that chip like mine, that is serious! 7 days! 

I went to Walmart and got Sally Hansen Double Duty before we went on vacation to Virginia Beach to give it a test run. I was even more thrilled when I got to the counter and it was only $3.94. Yes please! Tuesday night before vacation I painted my nails. I saw my first tiny chip on Sunday afternoon while unpacking once we had gotten home. I bragged to mom, as she has the same problem and she said, 'Well  you've been on vacation.. you haven't been doing anything!' So, I had to prove to her that I believe in this stuff and that it is real! Right? So, Sunday afternoon I painted them, and again.. it lasted for almost a week. Which is a record in my book and I'm so pleased with it! 

Here's what I used...

Turquoise & Caicos

Extremely obsessed with this color right now. Can't get away from it!

1 coat of Sally Hansen for base coat

2 coats Essie Turquoise & Caicos

1 coat of Sally Hansen for top coat

1 coat of Seche Vite 'Dry Fast Top Coat'

I added the Seche Vite on top because the Sally Hansen as a top coat, after drying for up to 10 minutes, felt very sticky and still wet. I've been using the Seche Vite top coat for a while. I love it. It gives a nice thick clear shiny top coat coverage.
