Big Weekend Recap

23 December 2013

On Thursday night we went to spend some time and eat dinner with my work BFF Fran, but that has with in the past year  turned into one of my real life BFF's. We had the best time! And the kids love 'Baby Bennett'. They asked to hold him, probably a hundred time. And asked so many silly questions about him. Carter just loved holding him and wanted to be careful of his head. Haha! Carter goes to Cindy's House with Bennett every day. I see them growing up to be great friends...

Friday after work we headed out to a friend's to see Santa. He came out to a cute little log cabin! All was literally well until Santa walked in. Bennett has been having reflux issues again, so as soon as Santa got there we had to head home. Sad we didn't get to stay! But we had a good time while it lasted and got some pretty good pictures of our little cutie pie.

Bottom right: 'Santa?! I know him!!!!'

Late Friday night Uncle Michael and Auntie KK came into town for Christmas! We told them that we wouldn't be there, because it was past Bennett's bed time. But, of course we wanted to see them in! We hid the car and hid in the back and surprised them. It's always great to see them!! They're getting plenty of Bennett time in and loving every second of it!

So, as an adult.. It seems like every time I fall asleep around my parents, either at their house, on vacation, etc. Mom is snapping pictures. I've always been curious of why. But now, when I go through the pics in my phone I have realized.. I have a million pictures of Bennett sleeping. Here are just a few from the weekend.

Belly Nap. He loves it. And yes he can breath.

Angel. This was at 7:30 Saturday morning.

Saturday, December 21st, it was in the 70's in Tennessee. Yeah, that's weird. So, towards the night storms rolled in and it got crazy. We only have Apple TV, we don't get the local weather channel. Just as mom was telling me that it had passed us the wind and rain got crazy and the lights flickered for about 5 minutes and then went off completely. For the first time ever, we actually 'took cover'. Me and Bennett sat in the closet under the stairs and read a book by the lantern. When things calmed down we sat in the living room by candle light. It definitely didn't phase Bennett though. He wasn't missing his bed time!

The next morning Brandon told me to come out and look in the front yard. There was a trampoline in our front yard. Definitely not feeling 'silly' for sitting in the closet after seeing that. Better safe than sorry!

A few other pictures I snapped over the weekend...

Getting back into working out now this is my view every morning. Up at 5:00 to make sure I get my work out in. Some people think I'm crazy, but if that's the only time I get to work out, you better believe I'm doing it. Staying shape and being healthy is important to me. Mom life!

Wrapping last minute presents. Grateful for the help...

Yesterday at the walk in clinic. Having a baby with reflux can be challenging. But thank the sweet Jesus above for doctors! Little Bennett showing mommy his muscles! Sweet boy.

  1. He is so sweet! I know you didn't ask for advice but have you taken him to see a chiropractor about the reflux? They can help with adjusting his spine and it literally takes them a couple of fingers to get them aligned. We had both of our children adjusted the night they were born and throughout their first year. Neither has any issues with reflux and my son has never had an ear infection and he is 3. Just a friendly suggestion that is drug free.
