With Christmas coming up and the fear of money pouring out for decorations, gifts, and food for gathering, I've become to love a good DIY project. They're so personal + awesome! You can't buy gifts that have meaning like a good DIY.
Lately I've posted a few DIY tutorials and projects that I've done.
Today I'm talking about awesome DIY Photo Coasters. Why are they so awesome? Because they're cheap and easy. What other reason do you need? So...here we go meow!
To start you will need:
-4x6 photos
-4x4 tiles{.16 cents at Home Depot}
-Roll of adhesive cork {$5 Hobby Lobby}
-Modge Podge {$5 Hobby Lobby}
-Clear acrylic spray {$5 Hobby Lobby}
-Sponge Brush {$1 Hobby Lobby}
+ A craft sheet so you don't mess up your pretty table.
1. Wash the tile.
2. Brush a thick-ish layer of modge podge on tile & stick on picture, smooth it out, don't worry about finger prints. Let sit for 15 minutes.
3. Brush a thin layer of modge podge over the picture. Let sit 10 minutes.
4. Brush one last later of modge podge over the top and let sit another 10 minutes.
5. Spray clear acrylic seal over top. Let sit 15 minutes.
DONE! Almost.
6. Measure the cork accordingly and cut pieces to fit the back & stick them on!
Seal with a pretty bow and wah-lah!
Finished product. How awesome is that? I even made one for our bedside!
You can see the thin modge podge streaks, where it was a little thicker in some areas then other, but I think it gives it a neat texture.
I have made these before with sscrapbook paper also. I have some in our bonus room and living room that have lasted over a year. They hold up great! Definitely one of my most favorite projects.
If ya got any questions, let me know! :)
